BB CYCLING STAN'S FIRST SPRING CLASSICS ARE HERE!!! :D
Strade Bianche was super pretty, very sunny and springy (also ugh Siena /flops) and I am very pleased with Kwiatkowski and not Sagan winning. U GO BB!!! Soigneur hug was excellent, too, as it should be! I'll see if I can catch some of Paris-Nice tomorrow.

In other news I'm not ready for TD finale on Monday, I will probably drown in a sea of tears, goodbye!!!!

Still doing the yoga! I've noticed that since I started I've become much more comfortable with putting weight on my mangled leg's knee, which was pretty weird at first. I also try not to be too completionist at the moment. I usually try to finish a 40 minute session because I know it's worthwhile to pull through but sometimes just doing 15 or 20 minutes is also okay. Also wheather is super springy (:DDD Sunnnn) so there's cycling and gardening! Of course the leftover winter grit already killed one tire, as is to be expected.

I've been collecting data for comics meta and pondering and discussing some things but often ended up feeling like there was no point in comparing anything because the respective industries and resulting products are just so incredibly different. Also my general ???????? about superhero comics shows, lol. Maybe I should just address this confusion and leave the questions open.

Okay, downward facing dog is a bit better but still not my best friend. I still can't do the hellish dog - plank transitions (plus leg moving lmao) in this sequence without flopping down five times and my weak t-rex arms shaking and crying.

Also I've infected [personal profile] lacerta with the intense woobie feels, everything is beautiful and nothing hurts and the tiny fandom is the most beautiful butterfly so far, blessings for the 8track hipsters in particular. I hope it grows a bit more and that ppl won't only ship Rust/Martin because the latter is such a gross asshole fuckface.

I mean to post about my ~deep and fascinating thoughts about comic paneling~ but then it just seems like too much work.

Dear lovely creator,

All of these are guidelines, first of all I want you to make something that's fun for you and if you have a strong idea, please go for it! Also, if you need any more info don't hesitate to contact me via the mod.

Blame!
For this manga I mostly like the fantastical worldbuilding that leaves a lot implied and the horrific creepiness of everything. Sanakan was one of the first female badasses I really liked, she's got a special place in my heart. I also really like Cibo and Killy though.

The Summit of the Gods
Ah, for fic I'm basically good with whatever compels you? I like all the information about mountain climbing, the (relative) realism of the story as well as how all the different relationships were drawn. For art I would particularly like something with landscape.

Monster
It's been some time since I read this but I'll refresh my memory should you be matched on this, please feel welcome to really dig into the story. Being German I was impressed by the amount of research that went into the setting and I really loved all the characters and I'll be cool with whatever you want to explore. Shipping is okay! I probably have a soft spot for woobie!Tenma. For art in particular I'm open to anything from atmospheric horror to Urasawa food porn and domesticity, whatever suits your style.

Y: The last Man
For this I'm basically interested in anyone but Yorick. An alternate ending for Agent 355 would be great, I'm still annoyed by how that went down in canon. Allison/Agent 355 would be nice! I really loved the style of the chapter covers, if you feel up to something like that artistically.

Polina
I like how this comic is actually about ballet, the coming of age story aspects of it and how it addresses the problem of searching for artistic expression and making choices and sacrifices.
This is the fandom I'd most appreciate art in comic form for and I adore Vivès sketchy, fluid and minimalistic art. I really love studies of dancers' movement, a series of those would be amazing.

Saint Young Men
This manga is basically curtain!fic (er, slice of life~) and that's what I adore about it, as well as how it makes religion a fandom, since I regret how Catholicism has no ridiculous fandom every day. (Jesus is the Orginal Woobie to me and everything about him in this manga gives me life.)  And I just love how they are such ridiculous cute hipsters. Jesus/Buddha is basically canon, I ship it.

I've got a new phone that can do more things than my old phone so my first official act was to get a podcast manager and subscribe to a giant pile of podcasts and it's amazing  \o/
Except there's so much to choose from! I'm pretty much covered in respect to what I usually listen to and things I found in vicinity so I'm curious about what isn't on my radar - if you listen to podcasts, which ones do you like? Also so far I could do with some more pop culture, do you know something about comics (non-superhero) and games that isn't moderated by only dudes? Is there anything about fandom? :D

In your own space, talk about a creator. Show us why you think they are amazing.

Since I already recced fanworks for this challenge I'll use this as an opportunity to voice some appreciation for the great things people do besides fanworks because they *+~create fandom~+* UuU

[livejournal.com profile] scarletscarlet is a very prolific fanartist and awesome budding writer but she also writes the best and most insightful and belly-tickling comments. No, I'm serious, if you read this scarlet: you write the best comments and you're a magical unicorn.

[livejournal.com profile] applegeuse makes podfics, of course, but she also does the amazingly useful podfic roundups at roundtable! Gosh, link collections, ilu.
Another similar great resource is the [tumblr.com profile] the-supernatural-phone-book compiled, I believe, by [livejournal.com profile] petite_madame (and maybe others??) who does not only draw gigantic piles of fanart.

[personal profile] snickfic filled a niche in SPN fandom by creating the newsletter [livejournal.com profile] spn_weirdnews and helping the poor and downtrodden rarepairs find their audience. ;)

[personal profile] paraka - articulate and friendly, she sparkles awesome wherever she treads but I'd like to highlight her service of privately hosting many podfics (and maybe other things?? I think so?) for her fellow fans. That's an awesome thing to do!
And since I'm talking about podfic I'm reminded that [personal profile] general_jinjur and her small horde of helpers and archivists deserve some love thrown at them for running the audiofic archive! (I try!)

[personal profile] bertee has been doing excellent jobs modding [livejournal.com profile] spn_j2_xmas and [livejournal.com profile] spnspringfling this past year (both requiring hand-matching participants). Kudos for being on top of things and awesome!

And whenever I'm thinking about mods I have to give a shout-out to [livejournal.com profile] maypoles , who passed her community [livejournal.com profile] hoodie_time on into her co-mods' hands last year. While she also writes lovely fic (<3!), modding was her main contribution to the fandom and she's been the most amazing and dedicated mod I've ever met.

[livejournal.com profile] maichan is my favourite snarker and surprise!SJ poster and postcard sender. Research has shown that at least 50% of postcards sent in fandom are sent by maichan. Also she's a great and stealthy mod as well!

Okay, next I'll have to sneak in some fanwork recs after all because I love all the artists who make tumblr sideblogs for their porn and kink, YAY PORN. Examples, I'm sure I'm missing some favs (PLEASE REC ME PORN ART TUMBLRS LOL): [tumblr.com profile] cocklings , [tumblr.com profile] zeroafterdark (CAREFUL, GURO), [tumblr.com profile] nonbefreakinlivable , [tumblr.com profile] sluternates

Also [personal profile] lacerta  is amazing and writes the best kink and dean/benny and I look forward to future adventures! MANGIO COME UN SQUALO! <3

In your own space, post a rec for at least three fanworks that you did not create.
1. In Dacia | Jeff/Jensen| 19 K | Teen and Up by [personal profile] laisserais

Rome built a wall to keep the barbarians out. C. 259 AD, the native populations rebelled, and kicked the colonizers out. Jensen is a Roman soldier, Jeff is a barbarian shepherd. They have nothing in common.

This was my gift for the [livejournal.com profile] spn_j2_xmas exchange last year (gosh, new year). I really have no idea how I got so lucky to receive actual longfic in a gift exchange but omg, I did. And it's my OTP! In a historical setting!
Without spoiling any of the plot points I'll say I love how the author sets the romance amidst larger political events here and slowly reveals the characters' backgrounds. And I think both Jeff and Jensen are unbearably adorable in this, they truly are. And there's some h/c in it and shaving and a bit of tropey slavefic goodness and domesticity (all things I like)! And it's funny!

IN SHORT, I LOVE THIS FIC MUCHLY AND IF ANY OF THESE FEATURES APPEAL TO YOU, YOU SHOULD GO READ IT!

2. A Dead Man the Voyage Brought Back (podfic) | Gordon and Dean gen | 45 min | stream available by [livejournal.com profile] badbastion

A lovely fic by one of my absolute favourite authors featuring a rare character that should be in more fanworks, read by a lovely reader! I think badbastion has a really nice, warm and somewhat sexy-smokey-rough voice and great pacing, the reading spead and pauses are just right for me and you can tell she's thinking about the meaning of the sentences she's performing, which is the mark of a good podficcer and always helps me immensely with following the story.

3. Everything [personal profile] gnatkip ever made! Go make paper Impalas everyone! Allez!

Hello DW, long time no see! I've been wanting to do this challenge but Day 1 wasn't for me so I'm starting with Day 2:
In your own space, promote three communities, challenges, blogs, pages, Twitters, Tumblrs or platforms and explain why you love them.

I'm making three themes instead of three discrete recs:

Podfic
I've got to say that podfic fandom is super organized and full of neat resources, challenges and communities, like [twitter.com profile] podfic which retweets conversations and questions about podfic and keep you up to speed. Podfic fandom is even doing it's exchanges on twitter, see [twitter.com profile] ITPE_mod . Then there's [livejournal.com profile] podfic_tips wich is still active and actually helpful and the newly-minted [community profile] podfic_love , for recs. Or if youwant to practice your French or are francophone, there's [community profile] franco_podfic . I think everybody already knows the audiofic archive but I'll still link it, just in case! A labor of love and it shows :)
Last, one challenge I definitely want to do one day is [community profile] pod_together because I love fandom best when it fosters exchange and collaboration between fans with different passions and skillsets.

Fandom
[community profile] metanews  / [tumblr.com profile] metanewsfandom - I've been keeping up with this still relatively young community and while the majority of the links aren'tt really of interest to me I do occasionally find some thought-provoking meta. I really like that this exists and hope that the pool of submitters will get larger in time.

[livejournal.com profile] fail_fandomanon - Is this really a community to rec? Well, it's definitely an acquired taste and a lot of the repetitive wanking can be frustrating and tedious. But then you can get all the recs and make threads about whatever you like to chat about and get discussion - and you have all the lovely bitter ex-OTW nonnies, the nonnies who can agree that yes, the racist fic really is racist and the nonnies who agree that BBP looks shady as fuck and you feel like you might actually need FFA in your fandom life to keep your faith. The opportunity to host non-hierarchical exchange (in a space without internet dudebros) is something I really value about the journaling services with their threaded comments.

Art&Education (these are totally fandoms!)
[deviantart.com profile] felixdeon - this dude's stock is a goldmine when you like drawing men and slash, so I keep returning to it. I especially like that he offers so many ~artistic poses, a good variety of poses and angles and multiple figures interacting. The only downside is that bodytypes are rather limited.
I really like the metmuseum youtube channel which features documentaries and lectures and recently a fun little web series with info-bites about select pieces.
Just recently I also found the YaleCourses channel which features some select lectures which have been made accessible and so far I've been really enjoying this Introduction to the Old Testament. Watching Christine Haynes fangirl the bible is a joy, I like the structuring and how clearly she articulates her points and draws her distinctions.

~Porn Battle~ is over, alas, so I guess I can gather up the fills. I'm afraid it's all Jensen or Dean-ish because I just followed my id and well, have you seen my id.

You can find them here in my art tag on tumblr for easy browsing or in their respective threads on DW, which are as follows:

Jensen/Dannel + pegging
John/Dean + gun
Dean/Lisa + cuddles
Jeff/Jensen + bondage
Jeff/Jensen + belt-bondage
